Clip selection that isn't random
It scores every moment for hook, payoff, emotion and clarity, and only keeps the ones above the line. No dead air, and never a sentence cut in half.
Local-first clip studio · macOS · coming soon
clipmill runs the whole clip factory on your own Mac. It finds the moments worth cutting, writes the captions, crops to vertical, and lines them up to post. Your footage never touches a cloud, and there is no per-minute bill waiting at the end.

How the mill works
01
A talk, a podcast, a stream, a long Zoom. Point clipmill at a local file or a link and it pulls the whole thing in.
Why local
Every other clip tool is a website you feed your media to. clipmill is an app that lives on your desk. The difference shows up in your privacy, your speed and your bill.
What it does for each clip
Everything an editor does to a raw clip before it can post, run once and repeatably.
It scores every moment for hook, payoff, emotion and clarity, and only keeps the ones above the line. No dead air, and never a sentence cut in half.
Burned-in captions timed to the syllable, with the keyword you choose picked out in colour. The single biggest lever on watch-time, done for you.
Smart 9:16 reframing keeps the face in shot instead of centre-cropping a head off the top of the frame.
Every clip lands with a title, description and hashtag set written for it, ready to keep or rewrite.
Approve, edit or bin each clip from one screen before anything is scheduled. You are always the last set of eyes.
Queue approved clips to YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and Facebook on the posting windows and caps you set, then read what landed.

Before you join
Yes. Importing, transcribing, cutting and captioning all happen on your Mac. The only step that touches the internet is the last one, when clipmill posts an approved clip to an account you connected.
Apple silicon Macs (M1 and newer) on macOS 14 or later. A Windows build is in the works. Join the early-access list and we will tell you when it lands.
No. Point it at a video and approve the clips it hands back. The fiddly parts (transcription, moment-picking, captioning, cropping, scheduling) are the parts it takes off you.
YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and Facebook, on the posting windows and caps you set. You connect each account once, and you can pause posting with one click.
No. clipmill is a licence you buy once and keep. The yearly option only adds ongoing updates, and it is entirely optional. The app you bought keeps working either way.
clipmill is for footage you own or have the right to use. It is a tool for your own long-form video, not a way to re-cut other people's work. What you choose to post is on you.
Coming to macOS
clipmill is nearly ready. Join the early-access list and we'll send you the download and launch pricing before anyone else. No spam, just the invite.
